Energy. Excitement. Structure. Gym. These keywords and eight hours is what we were given to turn the "pregnancy workout" set (seen below) into a completely different, entirely modern gym-feeling structure.  These photographs demonstrate how we rose to meet the challenge and exceeded even our own expectations.

Knowing that we would only be given one day to install this large Mediterranean-style set for Denise Austin’s Pregnancy workout video,  our team pre-constructed, assembled and painted it in advance.  Then, the entire structure was neatly organized, labelled, broken down and delivered to the stage by truck the day of the install and simply reassmebled and touched-up.  The paint technique was purposely selected by Creativision LA in order to accomodate the clients needs for a quick change-over into another set with a completely different feel.

This set was designed to accomodate a long shooting schedule for a 10-box dvd collection as well as many actors.  The producer wanted to capture the essence of a classroom but with the feel of someone’s home-a comfortable, familiar space that could double as a learning area.  We accomplished this vision by leaving the set very open, giving the viewer shots of windows, a seating area, a hallway, as well as a kitchen.  Fresh flowers and beautiful, warm colors and accents truly created the atmosphere the client was after.

We have had the great pleasure of an ongoing relationship with Mari Winsor. We have actually seen her cry tears of joy as she gazed at the set we created for her DVD workout series.  It was constructed and designed to look as if she was conducting the workout sessions from the warmth and comfort of home, rather than a more industrial gym atmosphere. She wished for viewers to feel as though it could be any one of their own living rooms in order to more easily visualize working the program into their daily routines.

This set was erected in an impressive two days. Regarded by Billy Blanks as the best set he has ever had, it was designed to represent a modern, stealthy airport hanger for his "Elite" series workout DVD’s. Liked so much, in fact, this set was used again for Billy’s MTV music video debut. The curved walls were all custom built and painted to match brushed metal. Every detail from the carpet design to the bright camo graphics and painted backdrop was a part of the Tae-Bo vision we created. (additional photos coming soon…)
